The Nurture Nature Foundation (NNF) has
operated to achieve its mission in a variety of ways. One of the
principal ways in which it has done so is by helping to create
and maintain a number of other related entities, for which it
provided crucial guidance, support, and funding. These are independent
organizations with their own decision making structure. NNF helps
support these organizations, in the belief that they can contribute
to the achievement of sustainable development.
The other entities include most prominently
Nurture
New York's Nature Foundation (NNYN),
Earth
Pledge, the
Kheel
Center on Environmental Solutions, and the
Nurture
Nature Center. The Nurture Nature Foundation seeks matching
grants to further its goals of nurturing nature and promoting
these organizations' work.
Nurture Nature has also worked with and provided support to a
number of other organizations whose missions are related to sustainable
development issues, such as
Center
for Environmental Research and Conservation (CERC),
Nature-Network,
and the
E.O. Wilson Foundation.
NNF's founder, Ted Kheel, has also been instrumental in establishing
a number of other related nonprofits, including the
Punta
Cana Ecological Foundation, which seeks to promote sustainable
tourism in a region in the Dominican Republic that Kheel helped
develop, and the
Foundation
for the Early Prevention and Resolution of Conflict, which
provides web based resources on conflict resolution.
